The relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement in English language among secondary school students in Tehran

Abstract


The aim of this research was to examine the relationship between the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement in English language among secondary school students in Tehran. Statistical population include all of secondary school students in Tehran at 2010-2011 academic year (400 students include 191 male and 209 female) based on cluster sampling method. Instruments used in this research are the Normalized 33factors Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire. The data was analyzed by means of regression analysis and independent T test. Findings reveal that there is meaningful relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement.
