The Effect of Gostaresh Donyaye Danesh Educational Software on Motivation and Educational Attitude of Junior High School Students in Bandar Imam Khomeini

Abstract


The following research tries to study the impact of Gostaresh Donyaye Danesh educational software on motivation and educational attitude of junior high school students in Bandar Imam Khomeini. This research is and intervention study and of pretest-posttest quasi-experimental type with two experiment and control groups. The studied population included the public junior high school students of Bandar Imam Khomeini and among them, and through a cluster random sampling, a 25-membered class was selected as the control group and a 25-membered class was selected as the experiment group. The research data was collected by two questionnaires of educational attitude evaluation by Akbari (2004) with a reliability of 92% and educational achievement evaluation by Kazemi (2007) with a reliability of 83%. In order to collect the data a pretest of educational motivation and attitude and a posttest of educational motivation and attitude, which paralleled the pretest, were used. Subsequently, using the deceptive statistics (table, mean, standard deviation and standard error) and inferential statistics (ANCOVA), the data was analyzed. Results from data analysis suggested that the Gostaresh Donyaye Danesh educational software had a significant impact on educational achievement motivation and educational attitude in students. Also, results indicate that this software has had significant impact on subscales of educational achievement motivation and educational attitude.
